Community Interacters

Adeel

Adeel has a degree in Sports Therapy from Staffordshire University. He works for Engage as a Community Interacter and manages several projects. He is also a qualified FA coach and plays a coaching role within Engage FC. Adeel also helps to run the Boom Boom Cricket Project. A competitive cricketer himself currently representing Leek Cricket Club, he has high ambitions of competing at a professional standard in the near future.

Ahsan

Ahsan has a degree in Business Administration and an MSc in Hospitality Management from Manchester Metropolitan University. He works as an Engage Community Interacter with a focus on outreach work, mentoring and human resources.

Ali

Ali has run several successful businesses and worked in Business Development. He has a joint honours degree in Business Information Systems and Management, from the University of Central Lancashire. Ali is involved in youth work, outreach, coaching and mentoring. He uses his entrepreneurial skills to engage and mentor disaffected young people helping raise their aspirations. He is very passionate about improving the area where he grew up and continues to live, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent.

Atal

Atal works on the Round House Boxing project and is directly involved in coaching, mentoring and outreach work. He is a keen dedicated and talented boxer with 27 amateur fights already at the age of 20. Atal has also represented his county Staffordshire in boxing competitions. He has completed a Level 3 in Sports Coaching at Stoke-on-Trent College and has ambitions to study at University.

Danny

Danny Aslam is 18 years of age and works as a Community Interacter & coach. He helps to coach and manage all the football related projects at Engage. Danny is currently studying for a Dual Honours in Business Management & Human Resource Management at Keele University. He has grown in confidence and size as a coach since he's been with Engage. Danny is also an FA Level 1 qualified coach. He's also a former Port Vale Academy star but gave up his football career to focus on working for Engage & professional weightlifting.

Ikky

Ikky leads on the football related projects and manages the Engage FC football teams. He is directly involved in coaching, mentoring and outreach work. Ikky works as a development worker at Stoke-on-Trent College's Burslem Campus and runs 6 various enrichment activities covering futsal and managing the college 11-a-side football team. Ikky has a Diploma in Youth and Community Work and is also an FA Level 1 qualified coach.

Jamal

Jamal leads the Round House Boxing project and is directly involved in coaching, mentoring and outreach work. He is currently the Midlands ABA light-heavyweight champion and winner of the light-heavyweight title at the prestigious international Viking Cup tournament in Denmark. Jamal has a BA (Hons) Sports Development and Coaching from Staffordshire University. He is also a talented rapper and musician.

Lee

Lee lives in Birmingham and is currently studying for a BA (Hons) degree in Marketing Management at Staffordshire University, after spending a year working for Jaguar cars. He has a passion for music and sports as well as helping those who are underprivileged and disadvantaged in communities. Lee brings specialist skills and knowledge in marketing to Engage Communities.

Luke

Luke works as a senior boxing coach and multi-sport coach at Engage. He currently coaches at Round House Satellite Boxing Clubs based at NCHS - The Science College, St Peter's Academy and Clayton Hall Business and Language College. He's represented club, county, region and country in amateur boxing. Luke has a Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Sports and Exercise Science and Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership.

Sohail

Sohail lives in Birmingham and is studying for a BSc (Hons) Computer Science at Keele University. He works as a Community Interacter on the Round House outreach project and Engage sports development projects. Sohail competes at a high level in the Olympic martial art of Taekwondo and is currently British champion. Previously, he was an English national champion in Karate before making the switchover to the Olympic style of Taekwondo.

Uzzy

Uzzy assists with delivering football coaching sessions, he is directly involved in coaching, mentoring and outreach work. Uzzy is an ECB Cricket Coach Support Worker equivalent to a Level 1.  He is due to start a BA (Hons) Sports Development and Coaching degree at Staffordshire University and is very passionate about football. Uzzy is an FA Level 1 qualified coach and started at Engage as a participant, then moved to volunteering and finally progressed to become a member of staff. Uzzy's highlight in life has been winning 3 Engage football tournaments as a captain.

Tas

Tas has a BA (Hons) in Psychology, Level 2 in Social Welfare and Level 1 Award in British Sign Language (BSL). He is currently completing as Level 2 in BSL and already has ECB Level 2 in Coaching Cricket. Tas has over 20 years experience of club cricket and is currently captain of his club team.  He's played representative cricket at junior and league level with over 10 years coaching experience. Tas also runs the under 17s junior cricket team at Woore.

Tayeba

Tayeba is passionate about working with children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. She has a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology as well as extensive training, skills and experience in working with vulnerable children and young people with challenging behaviour. Tayeba volunteers as a Community Interactor and brings significant skills and experience to the team.

Zahra

Zahra is studying for a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art and helps to facilitate art based workshops with disadvantaged children and young people. She also has experience of working with victims of crime. Zahra works as a Community Interacter on all Engage projects and services and provides mentoring to young people.
